Our family love animals, nature and the great outdoors. We have recently taken ownership of the croft with a view to change our lifestyle; to allow our family to experience nature at its best in the beautiful area of Strontian. We are still in the very early stages of returning it to a working croft but so far we have three very friendly lambs, which we have had the pleasure of bottle-feeding which can be very entertaining! Hens will be joining us very soon and look forward to enjoying fresh free-range eggs straight from the croft! Its not just livestock that we have been busy with, we are also working on our kitchen garden, which we are hoping will be fruitful in the coming months.
The croft is made up of fifteen acres, five of which was recently planted with a mixture of native trees. The rest is made up mostly of rough grazing, some mature trees, a huge variety of wild flowers, mosses and lichens and there are also regular visits from a range of wildlife including red deer and birds of prey.
There are spectacular views over the surrounding hills, valley and loch after an invigorating climb up the croft! From the croft you can access a lovely local woodland walk (Phemies Walk), which has a spectacular view out over Loch Sunart.

Fabulous old cottage in a great location with many excellent walks nearby, friendly owners, a village shop, and some good places to eat nearby. We really enjoyed the spa bath and the fresh eggs from the owners ' croft.
Lovely wee cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Clean and spacious, with welcoming touches like fresh eggs and flowers on the table when we arrived. Location is remote, but still within easy reach of shops and cafes, and with lots of great walking and sightseeing around for those who love the wild outdoors. Very well equipped kitchen and the jacuzzi bath is amazing after a day out in the hills!
Clean, cosy and quiet cottage. Great location. Beautiful short drive to reach amazing beaches and mountains. Local forest walks and loch with plenty of wildlife. Lovely restaurant and pub within 5 minutes walking as well as cafe and shop. Friendly community! Friendly, welcoming hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with every intention of returning. Thank you x
We would definitely recommend this lovely little place, it has everything you need and is very cozy whilst situated in a stunning part of Scotland that’s well worth visiting. We loved strontian and the surrounding area, truly magical. Strontian is very characterful just like this Croft.
We had a wonderful time staying with Grant and Laura in Strontian. Grant and Laura are great hosts, who even looked out a box full of toys for our three year old to keep her entertained during our stay. The place itself is in a lovely position to explore the nearby lochs and woodlands, whilst also being close to the facilities in Strontian which is helpful. The facilities within the house are excellent, including superb WiFi, bathroom, and kitchen. We couldn't fault it, and will be back in the future!
This is a lovely cottage in a gorgeous location. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts who succeeded in being approachable without being intrusive. I would highly recommend staying here.
We would like to welcome you to Craigrowan Croft where we have added this pod style cabin which we have named Gobha. Gobha (the gaelic word for Blacksmith) is situated just above the ruins of the old blacksmith's house. It is only a 5 minute walk to the local shops and a 10 minute walk to 3 lovely restaurants and a cosy pub.
Within the pod there is a double bed, shower room with toilet and wash basin, a well equipped kitchen and sitting area with smart tv. The pod has super fast broadband. Outside we have a decked area that is a nice spot for relaxing on when the sun is shining!

Our family love animals, nature and the great outdoors. We took ownership of the croft in 2018 with a view to change our lifestyle; to allow our family to experience nature at its best in the beautiful area of Strontian.
We have been working hard since then to return it to a working croft and we started our livestock journey with three very friendly lambs, which we have had the pleasure of bottle-feeding which was very entertaining! Our love for animals grew from there and now we have over 20 hens, 6 ducks, 3 ponies and 3 pigs.
Its not just livestock that we have been busy with, we have also been working on our kitchen garden, which we has been very fruitful over the years.

We are dog friendly and love meeting your beloved pets however we do request that on the Croft they are kept on a lead as we have number of animals including sheep, ponies, pigs, ducks and hens. We kindly request that the dogs are not left in the pod on their own and that they are kept off of the couch and bed. We also ask for a £10/dog cleaning charge that is payable on arrival.

We had a great stay at the wee house. It's well equipped, cosy, very clean, and Grant and Laura are great hosts. The area is also achingly beautiful, untouched and quiet, and we will definitely be back to explore more. Thank you!
Grant and Laura were excellent hosts and we would highly recommend this stay. The cabin was clean and well equipped for cooking, and had lovely views over the surrounding hills. The location was perfect for walking, mountain bike trails and sea kayaking. We can’t wait to come back!
A wonderful stay in the pod! Spotlessly clean, speedy WiFi, a really comfortable stay. Great location to relax or as a base for day trips to the surrounding area, everything you need nearby!
We had a lovely stay in the Wee House at Craigrowan Croft. Small, cosy and well equipped. We loved the location, it had lovely views and friendly sheep nearby. Short walk into the village.
This is a good place to stay as a base to explore the stunning area of Ardamurchen. Comfortable, clean and easy to stay in.
We had a fantastic stay in the tiny house, it had everything we needed for our short stay. We particularly appreciated the well equipped kitchen which made it easy to eat in. Very cosy with the heaters on even though we had some pretty cold weather whilst we were there. The location is beautiful, we feel like we barely scratched the surface with all the amazing places to visit - will definitely be back! Grant and Laura are great hosts, very friendly and good communication.
Craigrowan Croft Holiday Cottage is located in Strontian,Scotland,United Kingdom.
Strontian and the surrounding area is a treat for those who love the great outdoors with many walks from leisurely strolls to invigorating hill climbs. There are tracks that can be used by mountain bikers or miles of quiet single-track road with stunning views for those that prefer the road bikes. There are companies based locally who provide kayak tours on Loch Sunart, walking and scrambling expeditions and guided biking tours.
There is a large variety of wildlife and there is a great wildlife hide with views of Garbh Eilean (the Rough Island) which can be found in the woods on the side of Loch Sunart just a short drive away. Common seals are often seen basking on the rocks here and there is a heronry on the smaller island beside it.
